Difference between CGPA and effective CGPA:
GPA:
Firstly, GPA stands for Grade Point Average. It is the sum of grades of all your course at your university divided by career divided by total credits.
CGPA:
CGPA stands for Cumulative Grade Point Average. For your academic performance, it is a type of assessment tool. CGPA is calculated to determine students overall standing in the current course.
Types:
In VU there are two types of CGPA.
- CGPA
- Effective CGPA
Calculation of CGPA:
Below mentioned is the Formula for calculating CGPA.
CGPA = (Credit Hrs for a specific course X point of grades in that course)/ (sum of credit Hrs).
Calculation of Effective CGPA:
Effective CGPA is the overall total CGPA without counting the failed subjects or subjects that have F Grades.
Difference:
CGPA is the weighted mean of all grade value points and effective CGPA is the overall calculated GPA without keeping failed subjects in the count.
